I am translating technical documents from Japanese into English.
Now I check translation made by other translator.
Is the following correct?
"As specification of P-10 elevator is the same as that of P – 8 elevator, we assume that the percentage which each element standard time occupies in the total time is the same both in P – 8 and P- 10 elevator."
I thought next revised sentence would be better.
"As specification of P-10 elevator is the same as that of P – 8 elevator, we assume that the ratio of each element standard time in the total time is the same both in P – 8 and P- 10 elevator.
Which should I use, "percentage which each element standard time occupies," or "the ratio of each element standard time"?
