Per BrE ...

The man said, 'Is it strange?', but no one listened.
-- In BrE, should there be a comma after ?" as shown in this example?

Mike said, ‘I heard Nancy say “Be careful what you wish for.” ’
--Should a comma be inserted after 'say' above?
