Nope.

It seems to be limited to vision. You wouldn't use a hearing aid to correct poor hearing, I don't think. You might have corrective inserts for your shoes for a foot/leg issue, though.

As for bad character, I don't know what you do. Prayer and therapy?

No. That's just a temporary condition.

I can imagine writers from long ago using that turn of phrase, yes. However, as far as I know, you won't hear it in modern English.

Some companies have a formal procedure known as a "corrective interview", however. I don't know whether it is called that in all companies or in just some, but it is designed to "correct" employee behavior.
