people vs peoples

0can someone help me understand the use of verb for the word "people." I understand that it normally takes a plural verb but how do i explain the use of a plural verb with the sentence "the indigenous peoples of the world are very friendly." 02br

00In all cases, people is used without adding s to refer to a plural, except when it is used to refer to all the persons who live in a particular place or belong to a particular race, county ...ect. Here it is countable so you add "s".02br

'A person' is you.
'People' are you and me.
'A people' is an ethnic group.
'Peoples' are ethnic groups.
