people, voice/voices

Hi all,

In the following sentence, I'm talking about each person's inability to express his/her individual voice in his/her writing style; however, I'm unsure if I should "voice/voices".

"It's very obvious that these people are not expressing their real "voices" in their journals."

Am I correct in using "voices" or should I use "voice"?

Thanks everyone...

My two cents: Here you are talking about at least two people. I wouldn't hesitate to use "voices".

Yes. As far as I know, it means "You are a sweetheart" and is said by older people Emotion: smile not really IN.

Hi,
I'd be inclined to use the singular 'voice', to make clear my thought that each person has one voice rather than multiple voices.

Emotion: rolleyes I don't understand this. These kind of structures really confuse me. I am again interfered by my native language.
