People trade games with each other

I forced these people to trade games with each other to save money away from retailers.

Is this correct? I am not sure "away from" is correct, but can't think of a way to say it. It's like there's no phrase with the form "save money * retailers"

(I am not sure about "forced." Do you mean "encouraged"?)
