Spending a large amount of money on building new railroads for high-speed trains in cities has caused plenty of debate in recent years worldwide. While some peoples believe that it is fundamental to spend money on constructing new roads for very fast trains in cities, others think existing public transport should be upgraded instead. In this essay, both these views will be discussed thoroughly before my opinion is presented.

People who want to spend money improving existing public transport rather than constructing new railroads for fast trains in cities often give two main reasons for their viewpoint. First, many cities still have existing effective public transportation which it only needs to reinforce so it wastes money and may cause an inconvenient experience for the locals if it is under construction for a long time. Indeed, constructing new railroads takes much time so it will hinder largely people's daily life and business operations, especially in crowded cities. Also, while new railroad construction costs a large amount of money, almost all developing countries can not afford it. For instance, although our government wants to build high-speed railway lines in crowded cities to reduce congestion, our budget is too tight which we have to spend on our higher priorities like education.

On the other hand, people who support the opinion of the construction of new railroads in cities often give some reasons for their view of point. First, building a railroad for high-speed trains will help metropolia decrease traffic jams which is one of the most pressing problems in many countries. Indeed, in some developed countries with high populations such as the U.S. fast train transport enables people not only to transport faster but also to be convenient. On top of that, transporting by fast trains will improve the environment which is often extremely polluted in big cities. In fact, when people change to take trains to go to work, the CO2 emission in the air will drop off will help both the environment and human health.

In conclusion, whereas some are in favour of spending money improving public transport in cities instead of constructing railroads as some countries can not afford for it or their existing public transport is still good, others want to replace with high- speed railroad for a better environment and human health. I think the construction of high-speed railway lines of fast trains is the best choice since its benefits are undoubtedly large to our life.
