People should follow the customs and traditions when people start to live in a new country. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

"There are several reasons why people might argue that newcomers should follow the native customs and traditions. Firstly, the locals will welcome arrivals who respect their norms of social behaviors. The more integration people achieve, the more chance of making friends they have. Secondly, those who acquire a profound understanding of local culture tend to enjoy the traditions and be willing to take part in community life. For example, a person can not enjoy regional festivals should he not know about it.
I also argue that new immigrants will encounter difficulties if they do not conform to the norm of the local way of life. Some actions accepted in some countries will be illegal in others. For instance, while Vietnamese people drive in the right lane, English people do the opposite thing, running in the left lane. If a Vietnamese person went to England and obeyed Vietnam's traffic rules, he would be fined. Similarly, chewing gum seems to be common in most nations apart from Singapore, because it is regarded as illegitimate in this Lion Country. I believe that most of us should apprehend the local lifestyle before starting living in that community.
