People in the world / The people in the world

Hello, can I ask which one of these sentence pairs is correct?

If: People like music -> Most people like music

then:

People in the world like music -> Most of the people in the world like music

or:

The people in the world like music -> Most of the people in the world like music

I am not a native speaker. Thank you for your help.

These both seem a bit odd to me.
Peter OroszMost of the people in the world like music
This seems less unusual; probably I would omit."of the".

Thank you for your reply, I realize they sound odd, these are sentences I found in a grammar workbook (they were meant to demonstrate the usage of the article "the").

Purely in terms of grammar, all your sentences are possible. If we change "in the world" to "in this town" then the sentences seem less unusual, and the article usage can be examined more easily:

People in this town like music.
The people in this town like music.

These are both natural and there isn't a great difference between them. The second one may be judged
