pencil tip

Hi teachers,
Can I say like this?

My penciltip has worn down ,so I have to sharpen it
My stapler has run out of staples so I have to load new staples into it.

Thank you in advance

They are OK, but I'd adjust a little bit myself: My pencil point has worn down ,so I have to sharpen it. My stapler has run out of staples so I have to reload it.

I wonder if it is considered old fashioned to say 'my pencil point is dull' ?

Thank you

Certainly not old-fashioned. There's no set way to say this. All of the above seem reasonably. Or just 'my pencil's dull'.
