Peel the potatoes...

Hi

My apologies if I have asked this question before. But do these sentences work in everyday conversation? Any suggestions are welcome.

Don't peel the potatoes so thick; you are wasting them.
Don't peel the potatoes so deep. you are wasting them.
You must learn to peel the potatoes thin. You are wasting a lot of potato with the skin.

Thanks,

Tom

Of the choices you offer, this is the only one that seems possible to me.
