Pearl

Hi,

I'm wondering whether you can use the word pearl to describe a thing that you consider exceptionally good, e.g. a film. Would it be correct to say "This film is a pearl"?

Bet regards

"Pearl" is OK. "Jewel" is usual in that vein. "Gem", too, but it is often used ironically.
