Vocabulary

pay you back

Hi teachers,

May bought a CD via internet and her friend Carl went to the store to get it and pay for it. Later May's sister met with Carl so Carl would give the CD to May's sister. May asks her sister to 'pay' Carl the money she owed him and she will 'pay' her back the money.

1. Is the 'pay' the right word here?
2. Can you please correct the sentence?

Hi Mister Micawber,

I always thought 'pay' referred to the transaction inside a store. Can you correct the text, especially with the pronouns?

Thanks

Not true.

May bought a CD via the internet, and her friend Carl went to the store to get it and pay for it. Later, May's sister met Carl to get the CD from him. May asked her sister to pay Carl the money she owed him and she would pay her back later.
