oops, yes! "paid"

So, to say "he paid me" is ok? Or should I say "He paid me for something"?
I found: He paid me for the tickets, and the translation was: Me pagaron las entradas. It sounds awkward.

It sounds perfectly fine to me. Whether "he paid me" is sufficient will depend on the context.
