Pattern of verbless clause and adverbial clause

Hi,

after much trying to search for the answer in a few grammar books, I haven't succeeded. I would appreciate any kind of help regarding a few questions:

What is the syntactic pattern in a verbless sentences such as: The heaviest rain around Perth (Subject + Adverbial ?) , very very unpleasant indeed (Complement?)

If auxiliary verb is missing, such as in: The wing picking up here, is the pattern the same as if the verb was there? So Subject + Verb + Optional Adverbial

And finally, in the example: The temperatures at 8 in the morning are higher than they have been throughout the course of today. Is the comparison adverbial phrase than they have been.. meant as a whole? Therefore the pattern should be Subject + optional Adverbial + verb + complement + Adverbial (than they have been throughout the course of today)

Thank you very much for help.
