pattern of verb forget

The sample sentence is
ex. I remembered him to be impatient. in the Cambridge Grammar of the English Language. (verb+object+to-infinitive).
And it says 'forget' belongs to this type. Is it true?
I never saw any use of 'forget' in that construction.

I don't want to argue with Cambridge, but it looks weird to me. Likewise with 'forget'. Maybe it's an American-British difference? These are the forms I'm most familiar with (AmE):

I remembered him being impatient.
Possibly, I remembered him [as impatient / as an impatient person].

I forgot him to be impatient. Sounds odd to me.
