Pasture land vs rangeland

Hi.
What is the difference between pastureland and range land?
My impression of the words is that, pasture land is used when we are talking of a land covered with grass where animals can graze, and range land when we are talking about a land with indigenous plants.

But I guess these words can be used interchangeably, I was wondering if anyone could point out more difference of the words so it would be easier to use them in correct context.
Thank you very much for your time and help.
Regards
Hamid

Yours is not a bad impression. My impression is: pasture land = rich grass with plentiful rainfall while range land = sparse grass in semi-arid conditions.
