Past week or Last week

#1 The Child has been in the sick bed for the last/past one week.

Is there any difference in the use of "past week" and "last week"?

Is this superfluous to use "one" here?

Thank you

1. No.
2. Yes.

'Child' should begin with a lower-case letter.

(Mr M beat me to it.)

One of my friends told me that we don't use "one" with "last" (The last one week), as both are determining adjective. And two determining adjective can't come together. But I never come across to that kind of rule.

Yet 'the last three weeks' is OK? I mentioned that 'last one' sounds emphatic, and I don't think we don't use it.
