Past unreal situations

11. Sally's alarm didn't go off, and she was almost late to the interview. If she had arrived late, she might not have got the job.

Is there any way to guess that the condition is of past unreal situation? Can it be a present unreal situation too; Or I just feel so?

If she had arrived late, (unreal condition in the past) she might not have got the job. (hypothetical consequence of that unreal past condition.)
