Past tenses

Hi guys,

I would appreciate if you help me with correct using of tenses in those sentences :

A.) using correct form of the verb in brackets

2. Ireland beat (beat) England yesterday. England was winning (win) 1:0 in the first half but Ireland had scored (score) two goals in the second half.

4. I was running (run) to the station but the six o'clock train had already left (already / leave). The station was (be) empty except for three people who were waiting Emotion: wait for the next train.

B.) complete the newspaper report with the correct form of a verb

Last night Germany beat (appropriate verb and tense) Spain 3:2 in their World Cup qualifying match. At half time, the Germans were winning (appropriate verb and tense) 2:0. But Spain scored (appropriate verb and tense) two goals in the second half and it looked as if they were going to (appropriate verb and tense) draw 2:2.

PS. I'm pretty sure of the adequate verbs but have doubts about the correct tenses.

Thank you for your time.

Regards
