What's the difference and when to use them?

sang Simple Past tense. eg He sang yesterday.



sung Past Participle, eg He loves to sing. He has sung every day for years.

If it's the past tense why not use had instead of has?

He had sung every day for years?

He has sung every day for years. This is Present Perfect tense.

He had sung every day for years. This is Past Perfect tense.

These are two of the Perfect tenses. Have you studied them yet?

You now I did learn all these grammar rules in grade school but I failed most of my classes and never paid attention to them.

Could you correct my sentence above?

Never paid attention is referring to grammar rules or classes?
