Very good! George and Harry started to play yesterday at 1 p.m. It started to rain at 1:15 p.m. So they were playing (in the middle of doing something) when the rain started. Another example: I started to eat dinner last night at 6:45. You called me at 7 o'clock. So I was eating dinner (for fifteen minutes) when you called me.
