Past tense question

Hi!

Can we say, "I killed him 2 years ago"? Is it a correct sentence?

If it is ok, how about "I killed him 1 second ago"?

Thank you for reading.

Hi petvnla, Both of those are fine. You are referring to a specific time in the past, whether it was 2 years ago or 1 second ago, so the simple past is correct. " (I hope "he" is a mosquito and not another human being!

Hi petvnla,

Both of those are fine. You are referring to a specific time in the past, whether it was 2 years ago or 1 second ago, so the simple past is correct.

If it has just happened, and you don't refer to the time, you can say "I have killed him."

(I hope "he" is a mosquito and not another human being!
