Past tense or present tense for an event that happened a few seconds ago?

Hello everyone.

Let's say you ask someone the expiry date of their credit card and they ask you the reason as to why you want to know about it.

Should you say

1. I was just wondering if your credit card is still operational or has already expired

2. I was just wondering if your credit card was still operational or had already expired

3. I'm just wondering if your credit card is still operational or has already expired?

Which of these three options is correct?
