Past tense and Present tense in one sentence

Can I use these two tenses in the same sentence?
For example, can I say:
"I chose answer B at sentence 8 in my last English test but the correct answer is C"

Please also check if I use the prepositions correctly.

It's OK. The 'right' just intensifies 'now' in a colloquial way.

How about this sentence..

" Figure 1 shows the formation of L region was found towards the water rich apex of the diagram"

should i add which before was found or i need to change this sentence to two sentences separately?
