Hi, could you please help me with the following sentences?
I could not go to the party. It was the day I was babysitting for Jane and Tom. Why is the past progressive used here? Could we just use the past simple instead? I could not go to the party. It was the day I babysat for Jane and Tom.
And how about these sentences: Where were you yesterday? I looked for you everywhere. I was looking for you everywhere. Can we use both tenses to express the same meaning?
Thank you very much
