Past tense

Hi, I would like to ask you about the meaning of the following sentence.

This is Jane. I taught her Spanish some years ago.

Does the sentence I taught her Spanish some years ago mean that now she knows Spanish? Does it express accomplishment? When I want to express the process of teaching should I say I was teaching her Spanish some years ago? And what about the sentence This woman taught me English when I went to school. Does it mean accomplishment or the process of teaching?

Thank you
