Past simple vs present perfect

The difference between these two sentences:

1. you started watching One Punch Man after its season has ended

2. you started watching One Punch Man after its season ended

The first sentence, could it infer that the season ended recently and you're watching it right now because of the present present?

Could sentence two mean the same as sentence one?

The full sentence is "The anxiety when you started watching One Punch Man during your finals after its season has ended and the relief when you realized that it has only 12 episodes."

This sentence refers back to my first question. Would you care to enlighten me about it?
