could you please tell me if this sentence is correct?

I was working a lot during the last three weeks.

I think the Perfect Tense can also be used in this sentence, if the situation hasn't completely finished, that is, the third week is not over yet: "I've been working a lot over the past three weeks".

Please correct me, if I'm wrong.

That is the form I would expect. It would take special conditions to permit the others.
