I am an English teacher and I've just come across a test question which goes as follows:
A: Are you still working at the shop? B: No, I ______________ (leave).
There is no context and it's a single question not related to a text. My husband is a native AE speaker and immediately said "I left." I am not sure, though, especially since the question may not necessarily mean "are you working at this very moment" but rather "do you still hold the job at the shop". The test in which I saw the question is level A2 (elementary). What do you think?

There is insufficient context for us to say that only one response is correct. I left, I'm leaving, and I've left are all [pssoble.
