past simple of dig - digged or dug?

Hello,

I´ve found on the net these or similar sentences:

The dog digged a hole in our garden.

Is it OK?

I am asking because the dictionary says it should be irregular (dug, dug?)

Thank you Mowgli

Interesting question. I think it's wrong in the sentence, but there's apparently an exception in the simple past for dig in . " I digged it" ("I really liked it").

Ya i dont really know that one but i was wondering the same thing. I think it is dug but ive seen people use the word digged all the time and not in the terms "I digged it" as in "I liked it" but dont really take this from me because im not the sharpest tool in the toolbox (whatever that means) jk anyways ive been working on a project and was just wondering the same thing. tootles

There is precedent for this usage apart from the "I really liked it" meaning.

The KJV Bible uses digged for the past tense of to dig, for example, in Psalm 35:7

"For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul."
Take into account that it occurs within a poetic text based on Hebr

Can you ask your question more clearly?

I believe the question of the past of "dig" has already been answered in this thread. It's "dug".

Do you have a different question?
