Past Simple Negative Form

I had a car. If I make it negative: I had not have a car.

Is it right or wrong? if it is wrong then please tell me clearly why?

Changing Past Simple to the negative form.

It's just a two step process.

1. Change the verb to its plain form. (had > have)
2. Add didn't in front of it. (have > didn't have)
I didn't have a car.

I bought a car.
