Past progressive and duration

let's say that i repaired the car yesterday from 4 pm till 6 pm. I
want to tell about this somebody and highlight the process of this.

I say

I was repairing my car from 4 till 6 pm.

Is it ok ? I know that we usually use perfect continuous aspect when
we have a duration but I do not have a point in the past to look back from. So, the perfect aspect has nothing to "connect to" in my example.
