Past perfect or past simple

Recently I wrote this sentence to one of the international head officers: "I am sending you the edited student mobility form document as I typed wrong the year of the end of mobility.. At first I was completely satisfied with the verb tenses.. but since then I ve been doubting the use of past simple... Is not the past perfect better chocie in this occasion?
