Where your parents (live) when they (be) young?

Can we say Where had your parents lived when they were young ?

or we must keep - live and only change be - were

I'll go like:
"Where did your parents live when they were young?".
I think we should conjugate all the verbs in the (simple) past.

If you state "when my parents were young", it means they are older now, so it refer to the past. That's why, as Adomi says, you have to use the simple past.
