Past perfect contionous, past contionous, past perfect

I had been waiting for you before the lunch time ended
I was waiting for you before the lunch time ended
I had waited for you before the lunch time ended

Which one is correct? I'm confuse. It will be nice if you can elaborate about the use of each sentence.
