Past perfect continuous tense

Hi. Is the past perfect continuous tense used correctly in the example sentence below? Thank you in advance for your help.

He bought a bunch of books, and within a few weeks he had finished reading them and was planning to buy some more.

Past perfect continuous forms are: he had been finishing, he had been reading, he had been planning.

He bought (simple past) a bunch of books, and within a few weeks he had finished (past perfect) reading them (gerund phrase, object of had finished )and was planning (past continuous) to buy some more (infinitive phrase, object of was planning) .
