Past perfect continuous and 'already'

My friend argued the following sentence is grammatical but I think it is ungrammatical and sounds unnatural because of the adverb 'already'. Please check the sentence below and tell me whether it is correct or not. Thank you teachers.

"The had been already living there since they moved to the north part of America."

"The" (They, possibly your typo), but it would be more naturally written/spoken if "already" preceded "been". Omitting "already" would be correct as well since it could be considered redundant.

Ask your friend what he thinks that means. Try to consider an actual chronological example.

eg They moved to the north part of America on 1/Jan/2001.

eg They started to live there on ??????

the north part of America If you are talking about the continent, say North America.
