Hi Everyone,
I'm writing some examples for a resource sheet I'm creating for my class on the past perfect.
I have to say that it's quite a challenge to come up with sentences where you MUST use the past perfect. In many of the examples, you could well just use the simple past. For example:
" Even though the kitchen was clean, I felt that Judy hadn't washed the pots as well as she could have."
This could well read as:
" Even though the kitchen was clean, I felt that Judy didn't wash the pots as well as she could have."
Can someone please give me a couple of sentences where you absolutely MUST use the past perfect?
Thank you,
