In this sentence:

She acts excited, as though she had received some wonderful news.

Isn't has received a more correct choice here, please?

And so as is "as if" and also the "if" (in conditional forms). I would think that nature is unreal only from non-native English people's point of view, I wouldn't think it is the same from the native ones as well!

Both 'as if' and 'as though' operate the same way. After these you can find almost any tense.
