past perfect

hi teacher

I refused to pay for this meal untill he had apologized.
first he apologized then he paid but does it work for this example?

I suffered a lot of my teeth untill the dentist had extracted it
First I suffered then he extracted it
I could not have the appartment untill I had showed my id
First i did not have then I showed
Are they correct?I know the first one is correct.

yes I know but my first example (I refused to pay until he had apologized) is from an english site English Writing on Line
where they say that the action in past simple can also come before the action in past perfect
So my question is would it be possible to write the others examples

My tooth hurt a lot until the dentist had extracted it
meaning Once he had

I think the use of the past perfect is "too much verb". Use the simple past.
