Past Perfect:

Hi there,

Sorry, I posted anonymously before realising I had a login.

"I lost the key that he had given to me". I've been told this sentence is wrong, because of the "to". Is that correct?

I was under the impression it was correct.

He had given me the key before I lost it. This seems ok with no "to" but the sentence I'm referring to seems better with "to".

Can someone help me please? Emotion: smile

seantrfcI lost the key that he had given (to) me.
If you include 'to', it's correct. If you omit 'to', it's correct.

You can't lose on this one!
