Past Perfect

Is the following sentence correct : " Today, looking at myself bespectacled, I think that I look like more serious than in the time I had not worn the glasses." Is this correct? Or I should have used the Present Perfect or Past Simple?

bespectacled is an old-fashioned word.
More natural is looking at myself in glasses.
