past perfect

hello teachers

I saw that in a book and I am wondering why did the author choose past perfect

Thanks for those who had shown interest in ordering these , does that mean : I thanked those had shown interest in ordering these .I don't think so cause thanks is present or is it because there were many times between the interest and the order

Please let me know the reason

thanks for your answer

Is this use very common , it is the first time I saw it
What surprise me is that past perfect is employed with a present tense.
Thanks for those who had shown interest and ordered but it became impossible to get them . In that case I understand better
first action show and order
second action become
third action thank

If I write

Scenario:

I started my Internet business selling multicolored widgets.
But it was not a success. I lost all my money, and had to shut down the business.
I want to thank those who had shown interest in ordering my widgets (before I closed the business.)

OK, grammatically, three are 3 time points.
The present (I am thanking)
The past (I closed my business
