Are the two correct: He had left after picking up his son. (or) He had left after having picked up his son. Should it be 'picking up' or 'having picked up' since it is past perfect?
2) Things are not what they seem. How does one write this in past perfect? Things had not been what seemed. Is this right, or is it something else?
Thanks.
