Past passive or present perfect passive or ...

Hi,

Is there anything wrong with this sentence:

The job was organised for next month.

Should 'was' be changed for 'has been', or are both grammatically correct sentences with two different meanings? If so, what is the difference?

Thx, Fuerther

Both verb forms are correct. I like "has been organi z ed" because it implies the deal is still on. "Was organized" implies something may have gone wrong, or at least it allows that possibility.

  • "Organized" sounds a little complicated.
  • Perhaps "planned" or "set up" or "has been scheduled to begin next month" might be more natural.
