Past participle vs Perfect Participle

What is the difference between the following sentences?

Having been excited about the concert for two months, I practiced my dance steps every day.

Excited about the concert for two months, I practice my dance steps every day.

Top answer

The first one suggests more strongly that perhaps someone purposely got you excited about the concert. The second one does not suggest that and is therefore more likely to mean that you were just in a state of excitement on your own. The second one should have 'practice d ' like the first one does.
