Past participle

Sir,

I am tired.

I am bored.

Why the past participle of the verb "bore" and "tire" have been used in the above sentences.

Are the word "bored" and "tired" adjective.

Please clear the picture.

Somewhere recently we had a thread on this, Hanuman, but I haven't figured out how to search here effectively yet. Perhaps MountainHiker or another more competent moderator could call that thread up for us.
