What tense should I use to answer this question? Thank you.

Question: Did your uncle see Dr. Leong at his private clinic or at the hospital?

My uncle did not see Dr. Leong at his private clinic or at the hospital.

or

My uncle has never seen Dr. Leong before.

Did your uncle see Dr. Leong at his private clinic or at the hospital?

1. I would answer with 'No, my uncle did not see .....' because the question is already with 'did'.

2. If you want to ask if Dr. Leong has ever been seen by your uncle you would use present perfect in the question.
