Past Experience

If I went to a certain candy shop in the past, and I want to re-tell that experience of mine in the present, should I say "I shopped at a shop that sold candies" Or "I shopped at a shop that sells candies"? (And I'd prefer it if I don't have to say things like "I shopped at CandyMart" or such. I'd like to know which one is grammatically correct.)

Hi - I shopped at a shop that sold candies - I shopped at a shop that sells candies I would say that both are correct. The first one suggests that it was quite a long time ago and you no longer know if that shop exists. The second one says that you still believe the shop exists and still sells candies Dave

Hi

- I shopped at a shop that sold candies
- I shopped at a shop that sells candies

I would say that both are correct. The first one suggests that it was quite a long time ago and you no longer know if that shop exists. The second one says that you still believe the shop exists and still sells candies
